How a journey feels often comes down to a single point: the seat. It's the most direct contact between passenger and train, on every trip. That's exactly why it deserves particular attention.

Anyone who has spent many hours on a train knows how much a well-shaped, well-padded seat can change. Ergonomics decides whether a journey feels comfortable — often, it's the small details that matter most. This is exactly where the redesign of the CompinFainsa MD comes in: what already worked stays, much of the rest gets refined. Why develop an entirely new seat when a proven base — in use for years, including in the Westbahn version — already achieves high satisfaction levels? This evolution, rather than a reinvention, makes sense both economically and ecologically. Together with the development teams at Westbahn, CompinFainsa and GrossoRail, moodley developed a refined design that accounts for different body sizes and needs.

The result is a fundamentally reworked seating concept: compact fold-out tables for phones and tablets, USB ports, and newly shaped headrests for relaxation. Plus a dedicated solution for families: in double-seat configurations, a child can sit comfortably between their parents — made possible by fold-up armrests that sit flush between the backrests, creating a generous, padded seating surface. A hybrid between individual seat and bench.

Many small ideas add up to a new travel experience — a seat that builds on what already worked and makes it noticeably more comfortable.
